A Russian nuclear submarine was able to launch 4 ICBMs, in an attempt to demonstrate the readiness of Moscow’s nuclear forces, amid tensions with the United States, as there was only one nuclear agreement between the two parties that was close to completion.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the Pacific Fleet submarine “Vladimir Monomakh” managed to launch four Bulava missiles from the water in the Sea of Okhotsk, not far from the Pacific Ocean.
The ministry added that missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads hit their suspected targets in Russia’s Arkhangelsk region, near Finland, meaning they have traveled more than 5,500 kilometers.
According to Moscow, the “Bulava” missile is a “doomsday” weapon that follows an undetectable path, as well as its ability to carry 10 nuclear warheads, which is why the submarine that carries it is called an “doomsday weapon” .
