The General Directorate of Public Security indicated in a statement that, as part of its tireless efforts to ensure the proper functioning of offices, departments and centers, preserving public money, preventing bribery and combating administrative and material corruption, the General Directorate of Public Security managed to arrest many military suspects of embezzlement of public funds. As a result, the competent apparatus of the Directorate carried out the necessary investigations under the supervision of the Public Ministry, in the person of the public prosecutor, Judge Ghassan Oweidat. After the investigation was concluded on December 9, 2020, the Public Ministry of Cassation reviewed and examined the record, and indicated that the investigation was sealed and that it was deposited in the file. On the other hand, the Director General of Public Security, Division General Abbas Ibrahim, praised the outstanding performance and precision in the investigations carried out under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and the adherence to legal principles and norms.
