After two weeks of continuous Turkish military escalation, which was accompanied by sporadic clashes and violent artillery bombardments against the city of Ain Issa and its surroundings, the announcement of the new deployment of the Syrian army and Russian forces in the region came to signal the existence of a joint coordination between Damascus, Moscow and Qasd, to avoid that is, a Turkish incursion. Yesterday, according to the head of its “Military Council Tal Abyad”, the “SDF” announced, at a press conference, “the establishment of three new joint military points between the Syrian army, Russia and the SDF, with the aim of reducing the seriousness of the Turkish violations against Ain Issa. ” This announcement coincided with the arrival of military reinforcements from the Syrian army to the “93rd Brigade” and to the city of Ain Issa, preceded by similar reinforcements from Russian forces that arrived at the Russian military base in Tal al-Samen, south of the city. However, after hours of the new military deployment of the Syrian army and Russian forces, Turkish military reinforcements arrived at the Turkish base in the village of Sidon (2 km north of Ain Issa), which may indicate the continued offensive intentions of Ankara towards the city. These reinforcements coincided with the military escalation along the lines of contact in Tal Tamr and Manbij, with the aim of dispersing the efforts of the Syrian army and Russian forces, and sending a message of seriousness to achieve a new expansion deep in the control areas “Qasd” in northern Syria.

It appears that Turkey is joining the attack on the city of Ain Issa in particular, to achieve a number of objectives, the most important of which is to attack the Kurdish “Autonomous Administration capital” and control a major transport node linking SDF-controlled areas in Aleppo, Hasaka, Raqqa and Deir Ezzor countryside. Likewise, the Turks want to cancel Washington’s expectation that no new Turkish attack will be repeated in the areas controlled by Qasd in eastern and northern Syria, as announced by the envoy of the US president, Joel Raibon, in addition to cutting off the Kurdish hopes for the US ability to protect the “Qasd” areas. And send a message to the latter that there are no Turkish promises to the Americans to abandon the mission to combat it and eliminate any threat to Turkish security, from Ankara’s point of view.
Faced with this reality, Moscow is working to raise the level of coordination between the Syrian army and the “SDF”, with the aim of blocking the way to Ankara to achieve new advances on the ground. However, Russia faces difficulties in that, due to the intransigence of the “SDF” in making military concessions and its insistence on maintaining its administrative and security control over the city of Ain Issa, and refraining from handing over powers to the Syrian government. . In this context, a Syrian field source reports that “Moscow has officially informed the SDF of the serious Turkish intentions to raid and control the city of Ain Issa, in light of the continued military presence of the SDF and Asayish and the Autonomous Administration in the city, “revealing that” the Russians informed the Qasd leadership of the need to raise the Syrian flag, and returning all the institutions of the Syrian state, with the opening of police departments, to withdraw the Turkish excuses for carry out any new attacks. The source hopes that “the announcement of the new deployment of the Syrian army is one of a series of steps that will be gradually implemented, to gradually restore the authority of the Syrian government over the city and help protect it from any attack.
