The Iranian president thanked the amendments to the Syrian constitution and said: “We appreciate the actions of the Syrian government to amend the constitution, and we hope that next year Syria will witness general elections in which all political currents participate.”
He noted that “Iran has experienced the worst sanctions in the last three years,” and stressed that “it is aware of the difficult conditions the Syrian people are going through as a result of terrorism and sanctions.”
Rouhani also noted that “the objective of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani is to avenge the resistance of Iran and the peoples of the region,” adding that “the objective of the assassination of Fakhrizadeh is to avenge scientific and technological development.”
