The theater and cinema “Sevilla” has resumed its various cultural activities. The Sidonian Space (South Lebanon) inaugurated the Ishbilia Remembers (Seville Remember) events that include screenings of selected films from the classics of Arab and international cinema. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the event will begin with the screening of the film “Sayonara” (1957 – directed by Joshua Logan – 147 D / s). The work, co-starring Marlon Brando, James Garner and Martha Scott, centers on a commander of the US Air Force in the Korean War. He is assigned to one of the American air bases in Japan, and vehemently opposes the marriage of American soldiers and officers with Japanese women, thus adopting the governmental point of view in addition to his previous personal convictions. But he meets a beautiful Japanese model (Hana Uji), and falls in love with her, which changes his convictions. On December 16, Alfred Hitchcock’s film “The Rear Window” (1954-115) will be screened, followed by Frank Capra’s film It’s a Wonderful Life (1946-132d) on the 23rd of the same month.
