Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly criticized France’s role in the Karabakh crisis, saying that the restoration of the region by Azerbaijan is a legitimate victory it deserves.
He also criticized the recent decision of the French Parliament to ask the French government to recognize the so-called “Republic of Karabakh”. Erdogan described the decision as a disaster and a catastrophe rather than a scandal, although France is one of three countries in the Minsk group.
The Turkish president said that France’s position has shown that it is part of the problem and that it will not be neutral on the issues. He added that France tried to play the same game in Lebanon, but Macron was expelled from Lebanon, he said.
On another subject, he said that he praises God for the fact that the crescent and the star (which are on the flag of Azerbaijan) now adorn the sky of Karabakh thanks to the struggle of our Azerbaijani brothers. He stated that Turkey will continue to support the right wing and the oppressed at all times and places.
The Turkish role in the Karabakh war
For his part, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Saturday that Azerbaijan liberated the Karabakh region from Armenian occupation in 44 days with contributions from the Turkish national weapons systems.
This came during the handover ceremony of the first home-made helicopter engine produced by Tusas Engine Industries and the inauguration of an engine design center in Eskişehir, central Turkey.
Akar explained that the Azerbaijani army managed, with great success, through the one-country process, to end the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands, which lasted about 30 years.
He pointed out that the whole world is talking today about the magnitude of the influence of the Turkish weapons systems in the course of the military operation carried out by Azerbaijan to liberate its lands and expel the occupiers.
And he indicated that the Turkish armed forces have achieved great success in their military operations against what they described as terrorism inside and outside the country through the sacrifice of their elements, and thanks to locally manufactured weapons, ammunition, equipment, vehicles and mechanisms.
He noted that the contributions of national and local weapons systems are great in the success of the Turkish armed forces in their missions to protect the interests of the country in the eastern Mediterranean and Aegean, and the tasks entrusted to it in various parts of the world.
