Economy Minister Raoul Naama emphasized that the prices of basic food products will decrease within 3 weeks, because the cost of goods will be determined and will work according to a specific mechanism in coordination with the central bank, to secure the dollar at a lower cost, so that the citizen can buy it at a lower cost.
In a direct conversation with his colleague Rachel Karam through “Istgram” within his 2021 program, Naama indicated that the ministry “is currently working on the preparation of the list of basic food products, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture , and when the list is ready, we will go to the Bank of Lebanon and work with it to secure dollars For merchants at a special price, it could be 3000 or 3500 LBP.
He explained that the citizen will benefit from this matter on two levels:
The first: the goods will always be available and will not be cut.
Second: The exchange rate will not be at the market price, but it will not be 1500 LBP. In addition, it will be at an acceptable price, noting that the ministry will not help import goods present or cultivated in Lebanon.
