A country buys 200 million doses of vaccine ... and vaccination is free!

According to a bill, Japan intends to provide free vaccines against the emerging virus “Corona” to all its 126 million inhabitants, at a time when the archipelago faces a high number of infections.

The upper house of the House of Representatives approved the bill that would require the government to cover the costs of vaccination, after having obtained the approval of the House of Representatives.

Japan has already ordered 60 million doses from Pfizer and 25 million from Moderna.

He also confirmed that he would receive 120 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Pfizer / Biontech Alliance and Moderna are seeking to obtain an emergency use license in the United States and Europe, after their experiments demonstrated high efficacy of the vaccine, and the United Kingdom agreed to use the vaccine on their soil.

The bill’s approval comes two weeks after the prime minister announced that Japan is on “high alert,” after registering a record number of new infections.

Japan remained relatively immune to a dangerous outbreak of the epidemic, recording 2,170 deaths and 150,000 injuries, and did not impose isolation measures like those imposed in other regions of the world.

The governor of Tokyo urged residents to avoid leaving for unnecessary reasons and asked stores that serve alcohol to close early, but these recommendations are “non-binding,” according to “AFP.”
