The United Nations on Tuesday called for access to refugee camps in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, which suffer from food shortages, “which makes the risk of hunger and malnutrition more real.” The fighting forced tens of thousands of people to flee to other regions of Ethiopia or to cross the border into Sudan. The number of refugees is expected to reach 200,000 over the next six months, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
