The General Union of Workers called for the need to form a government as soon as possible to save Lebanon
The president of the General Workers’ Union, Bechara Al-Asmar, indicated that “with the escalation of voices of officials from basic sectors that have an economic role, such as: Port of Beirut, Electricity Lebanon, service provider companies, including BUS , Ogero, waste collection companies and hospitals, due to their inability to continue providing the services required due to the exhaustion of the basic requirements for their work and the spare parts necessary to do what is required of them, and the impossibility of insuring them because most they are imported from abroad or insured from the domestic market, and in both cases the price for them is paid in cash in US dollars.
He noted that “it is important that the General Union of Workers confirm:
1- The need to form an effective national government immediately and without delay from within or from without in order to establish political stability that establishes the beginning of the necessary economic treatments.
2- Ministers interested in the interim government fully discharge their duties without delay, keep abreast of all these issues, each in their jurisdiction, and strive to address them as soon as necessary. Otherwise, we will see the country, soon and very soon, overwhelmed by darkness and garbage, and the impossibility of securing communications and the Internet, and the negative impact that this means on schools, universities, institutions, etc. The main thing in the country, especially maritime and air traffic, which means a complete paralysis in the country.
On behalf of the Trade Union of Workers, he called on all interested political officials and ministers to work quickly to form a national government, save the country and address the exacerbated crises before it is too late because time is running out for everyone.
