The Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the Iranian Defense Ministry confirmed the murder of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, one of the most prominent nuclear scientists, in an armed attack, which the ministry described as a terrorist.

For its part, Iran’s Foreign Ministry “strongly” condemned the assassination, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said there are serious indications of an Israeli role in the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist.
Zarif called on European countries to end what he described as a double standard policy and to condemn this crime, which is considered state terrorism.
In turn, the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Major General Hossein Salami, said: “The assassination of our nuclear scientists is a clear confrontation to prevent Iran from accessing modern technologies.”
The semi-official “Tasnim” news agency previously said that “the terrorists blew up another car”, before shooting a car carrying Fakhri Zadeh and his bodyguards in an ambush on the outskirts of the capital.
Iranian media pointed out that Fakhrizadeh is a first-class scholar in the field of scientific research and has been on the international sanctions list since 2007. Accusing him of being involved in the missile and nuclear weapons program.
In light of Iranian references to Israel’s role in the assassination, Reuters reported that the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refrained from commenting on the attack that targeted the Iranian nuclear scientist, which is the same position taken. by the Pentagon, according to Reuters.
Notably, the United States and Israel previously spoke about Zadeh and his role in making explosive warheads; Tehran denies it.
Scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh is described as the head of the “Iranian nuclear program”, which the United States and Israel are fighting, and which seek to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, while Tehran claims that it only seeks nuclear energy, not weapons.
