A medical surprise to discover cancer before its symptoms appear
British Health Services Executive Director Simon Stevens announced that the Grill test for cancer will be tested on 165,000 patients by mid-2021, according to The Independent.
He stressed that the test, developed by the American company “Grail”, would be a “game changer” and would help achieve the goal of countries to increase the rate of early detection of cancers, which would lead to a decrease in deaths from cancer diseases.
He added that if the test showed it was working as expected, it would be rolled out to be routinely available, noting that patients diagnosed with the condition in the first stage generally had a five to 10 times greater chance of survival compared to those with the condition. that they met in The Fourth Stage.
The company “Grill” announced last March, coming up with a simple blood test that can detect 50 types of cancer, including cancers of the intestine, lung, ovary, brain, pancreas and esophagus, before symptoms or signs appear of these diseases.
The test works by looking for chemical changes that indicate what is happening to parts of the genetic code of cells that can leak into the blood from cancerous tumors.
