According to security sources informed Anadolu Agency, the Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office issued arrest warrants against 44 former and current military personnel in 14 different states.
Immediately after the arrest decisions were issued, the anti-terrorist teams of the General Directorate of Security in Istanbul started a simultaneous process to arrest the wanted persons, and they have already been able to arrest several of them and the rest are being captured.
These arrests are part of the investigations carried out by the Turkish judicial authorities into the “Gulen” organization within the army.
The Turkish government accuses the Turkish preacher, Fethullah Gulen, who is hiding in the United States, and his supporters of being behind the failed coup of 2016, and arrested many of them and sent them to prison.
Ankara demands that Washington and the US administration hand her over to Gulen, but their attempts have failed, and Washington insists on refusing to hand her over to the Turkish authorities.
