The dispute broke out because a Coptic citizen from the village was accused of posting insulting cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad along with phrases on his Facebook page, where the owner claimed he was “robbed.”

The security men were able to prevent the attack on the Abu Seifin church in the village, which was witnessing religious celebrations, and the compromise and control of the situation was ended, the entrances and exits of the village were closed and some were arrested. troublemakers.

Eyewitnesses stated that the situation became tense between Muslims and Christians in the village of Deir al-Barsha, due to a post on the “Facebook” site by one of the youth of the village, which the Muslims considered offensive to the Prophet, and the affair escalated into clashes between residents with rocks and Molotov cocktails, and Muslims besieged the Abu Seifin church during a religious event.

They added that the crowd chanted angry slogans demanding the young man’s judgment.

A security source said that the Central Security Forces formations were pushed to contain the crisis and control the situation within the town, and 8 people from the town were arrested, accused of rioting and assaulting others.
