Brazil arrests activist in “stream” for “drugs”

Last Monday, the Brazilian police arrested a Lebanese drug trafficker, who they said is Asaad Khalil Kiwan, who has Brazilian citizenship and is a famous activist of the “Free Patriotic Movement” in it, which is Hezbollah’s ally party in Lebanon, founded by Lebanese President Michel Aoun, headed by his son-in-law Gebran Bassil. .

Assad Khalil Kiwan was arrested in the city of São Paulo, along with others, as part of a joint operation by the federal police and the anti-drug and money laundering agency, and was suspected of being involved with a criminal organization active in smuggling to Europe through Brazilian ports. A raid on a store he may have belonged to in São Paulo, due to the video being broadcast in the famous newspaper and television website O Globo, was part of a prominent story related to his own arrest.

Kiwan, who is from the remote town of “Kafrnis” in the Chouf district 45 km from Beirut, was expelled by Paraguay in 2009 for his involvement in the attempt to assassinate former senator and current representative Roberto Acevedo and two of his bodyguards in an attack on him, during which the deputy was wounded by two non-fatal bullets.

In Brazil, Kiwan is one of the 66 most important wanted by its police, who carried out a large operation called Enterprise to arrest them one by one in 11 Brazilian states, and the operation has so far resulted in the seizure of 50 tons of cocaine with those who arrested them, in addition to the seizure of 400 million Brazilian rials, equivalent to 75 million dollars.
