In this context, and in the process of promoting the normalization process that began last October, a military delegation headed by the head of the Middle East and Africa Division of the “Israel National Security Council” visited the capital Khartoum the day before yesterday , where the plane carrying him landed on the airport runway. According to informed sources, leaders of the Army and General Staff met with the delegation and held conversations with it that lasted for several hours. In an interview with Al-Akhbar, sources clarified that the head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, was not among those who met with the delegation, but she confirmed, to Instead, Al-Burhan received a report on the results of the visit from army leaders. Likewise, according to a military source, he revealed to Al-Akhbar that the most prominent files on the discussion table were “military cooperation in the fight against terrorism in general, and in particular cooperation in information to prevent the smuggling of weapons to the Gaza Strip and thus ensure entry into Africa. ” The source does not rule out that the parties agree to protocols that include training and arming the Sudanese army.

The Sudanese government is blamed for its persistence in the policy of shutting down the ongoing normalization process with Israel, and its insistence on its complete ignorance of the steps that are being taken along this path, and the latest aspect of that is the announcement of its spokesman, Information Minister Faisal Muhammad Saleh, that the cabinet is not aware of the visit of an Israeli delegation to the country. And that there was no coordination with the government by any official regarding the visit. And Israel Army Radio reported that Tel Aviv sent a delegation to Khartoum on Monday, in preparation for a visit by a larger Israeli delegation, which is scheduled to go to Sudan in the coming weeks to discuss joint agreements in the fields of agriculture, economy and irrigation.
The visit of the Israeli delegation comes at a time when the political arena is in a state of stagnation pending the restructuring of the transitional government into its two parts: the cabinet and the “sovereign council”, in application of the ” Juba Peace Agreement, “which requires the removal of several ministers to accommodate members of the armed movements, and the addition of seats. To the “Council of Sovereignty” for the same purpose. In this context, observers do not rule out that the integration of the leaders of the armed movements into the transitional government pushes the normalization process towards its end, since several of the affiliates of those movements of the people of the Darfur region emigrated to Israel. several years ago after the explosive situation in the region.
At this time, a state of frustration prevails in the Sudanese street over the failure of the civil government to achieve the objectives of the popular movement and preserve its conquests, in addition to the living anguish that citizens go through due to the high prices caused by the unprecedented increase the inflation rate, and the shortage of basic products such as bread and fuel.
