Wilmington: US President-elect Joe Biden confirmed in Wilmington on Tuesday that the United States is “ready to lead the world” during his presentation to members of his next administration’s diplomatic and security team.

Biden said: “It is a team that reflects that America is back and ready to lead the world and not withdraw from it.”

All members of his incoming administration were eager to reaffirm America’s leadership role in the international arena and vowed to abandon the isolationism that marked the Donald Trump era.

The incoming US ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, stated that “the return of multilateralism and the return of diplomacy.”

“Today I think of the American people, my fellow diplomats and public sector employees around the world. I would like to tell you that America is back, multipolarity is back, diplomacy is back,” he said.

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris indicated that the task will be difficult.
