Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that he will visit Bahrain soon, following a telephone conversation on Monday between him and Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Netanyahu added that during this conversation he discussed strengthening relations between the two parties.

Netanyahu said: “I spoke with the Crown Prince of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and this is the second conversation between us, and a very friendly one.” He continued: “We are both affected by the fact that we can bring the fruits of peace to our peoples and two states in the next short period.”

In context, Walla’s website quoted senior Israeli employees as saying that Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi will visit Bahrain on December 4 and that Netanyahu wants to visit Bahrain before Ashkenazi, to be the first Israeli official to visit Manama. .

Israel and Bahrain signed an agreement to normalize relations, which included memoranda of understanding in eight areas, including entry visas, aviation, agriculture and investments. Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdul Latif Al-Zayani visited Israel last week, where he met with Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

On the other hand, the Israeli media revealed a visit by an Israeli delegation to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to hold normalization meetings with Sudanese officials. Israeli channel “Ynet” said that a larger delegation would pay a later visit to discuss possible economic cooperation with Khartoum.

The Sudan Tribune newspaper revealed that the head of Israel’s National Security Council, Meir Ben Shabat, led the Israeli delegation to Khartoum. But the Sudanese government spokesman, Faisal Mohamed Saleh, denied to the same newspaper that the cabinet was aware of this visit.

He added that “no party in the state coordinated with us in this regard, and we do not know the composition of the delegation, nor the party that invited and received it.” The newspaper noted that the delegation arrived in coordination with the military leaders of the Sovereignty Council.

Israeli army radio said Israel sent a delegation to Khartoum on Monday, the first after announcing an agreement to normalize relations between the two sides, under the auspices of the United States.
