The observatory suggested that “Israeli” planes launched the raids, while a spokesman for the Israeli army said only: “We do not comment on reports in foreign media,” as reported by Agence France-Presse.

The observatory stated that the fighter jets launched “more than 10 raids on pro-Iranian militia sites in the Albu Kamal city countryside”, adjacent to the Iraqi border in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, and noted that the bombardment resulted in “the death of 8 Iraqis and 6 Afghans at least”.

The raids also “destroyed two centers for these groups and several vehicles.”

The area between the cities of Albu Kamal and Al-Mayadeen in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside is under Iranian influence, through pro-Iranian groups fighting alongside Syrian government forces.
