The South Korean government decided to allow destination-free international flights for a period of one year, Yonhap reported Thursday.

The decision was made after a government meeting that took place on November 19, during which the plan for international tourist flights was discussed.

During the meeting, the government decided to allow international tourist flights for a period of one year.

The move is designed to support duty-free aviation, tourism and industries suffering from the repercussions of the emerging coronavirus pandemic.

Tourist flights will depart from Incheon International Airport, cross national airspace and return again to Incheon Airport without stopping.

And unlike ordinary travelers, passengers on a flight with no destination will be exempt from diagnostic testing and self-isolation, as long as virus prevention measures are followed, such as wearing masks during the flight and monitoring the temperature.

Like ordinary travelers, they will be granted customs exemptions, as they will be allowed to purchase duty-free products in the duty-free market at the departure and arrival airport.
