As all eyes turn to the results of the US presidential election, the counting process continues in 7 states, with Republican President Donald Trump leading the way in 5 of them.

The seven states are Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, and Alaska.

It should be noted that the states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania are expected to be instrumental in determining who will win the election.

For that, media expectations have so far focused on Trump’s victory in 23 states, including prominent states Florida, Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri, all of which he won in 2016. They pointed to the victory of the Democrat Joe Biden in 20 states, including his state, Delaware, and major states like California and New York. Besides Washington, DC. That gives Biden 238 votes so far and Trump’s 213 votes.

Additionally, winning the presidency requires obtaining the votes of 270 senior electors in the electoral body.

‘We prepare to celebrate’

Trump reportedly confirmed, in a speech from the White House earlier Wednesday, that his team was preparing to celebrate his victory in the presidential election, paving the way for a second term.

“We are literally getting ready to go out there and celebrate all this success,” Trump said, adding that “a sad group trying to marginalize the millions who voted for us.”

To that, he highlighted the record number of citizens who attended the polling stations on Tuesday, saying: “Citizens came out in record numbers.”

On the other hand, Joe Biden called, in a speech Wednesday, to his supporters in Delaware, to be patient until the results appear, but stressed that he is about to win.

Biden added, “We are about to win, and the results can be announced tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,” in an indirect call to his supporters for calm and patience.
