1. Coronavirus
2. White House transition
All 50 states and the District of Columbia will now certify the results of their presidential election. The next big step in the electoral college process is the voter meeting on Monday. President Donald Trump yesterday stepped up his baseless allegations of voter fraud, asking the Supreme Court to intervene in a lawsuit invalidating millions of voters in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, President-elect Joe Biden has yet to make some cabinet decisions, including the nomination of an attorney general. Alabama Sen. Doug Jones, Judge Merrick Garland and Sally Yates are the top contenders, sources familiar with the situation said. Biden is also trying to sell his selection for Secretary of Defense, retired Army General Lloyd Aust Stein, to congressional Democrats sitting on the fence. Austin Stein’s nomination will require a special apology, as he has been away from active-duty military service for only four years instead of the seven years required for the position.
3. Stimulation
A bipartisan group of lawmakers is finally trying to close the deal on a new federal coronavirus relief package, but now, it does not include stimulus investigations sent to more than 160 million Americans a year ago. Instead, the proposed deal focuses on unemployment benefits, assistance for small businesses and other targeted assistance. The bill would also expand key unemployment programs running at the end of the year, so Congress is definitely trying to get something done before that deadline. One of their goals? Keep the package price below ટ્ર 1 trillion to ensure Republican support.
4. Facebook
The Federal Trade Commission wants Facebook to break up, and its biggest assets, such as Instagram and WhatsApp, to be cut off. Dozens of states and the federal government have sued the social media giant in two anti-trust lawsuits, accusing Facebook of abusing its dominance in the digital marketplace and engaging in hostile behavior. Facebook has 3 billion users in its portfolio Pulse portfolio, a large number of questions raised by some legal experts, including US legislators, raising questions about whether Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will thwart competitive risks. Those actions, claim allegations, squash competition and limit the customer’s choice. Facebook says acquisitions of its other apps did not raise questions at the time, and people use their offer fur because of value, not because of a lack of choice.
5. China
Chinese state-owned companies are starting to default on their debts and their struggles could affect global economic recovery. Last month, several large technology and energy companies declared bankruptcy or repaid their loans, and overall, state companies defaulted on a record $ 6.1 billion in bonds between January and October 2020. Beijing is generally reluctant to allow such companies to fail, so these are potential signs. Investors can be ignored because of the changing relationship between companies and the government. And if Beijing’s ability to manage such debts is called into question, it could put even more strain on the financial markets. China is the world’s second-largest economy, and poor recovery or increased uncertainty has an impact outside its borders.
