As Lauren Hashian and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s beautiful Hawaiian wedding location last year were not enough to melt us, Hashian celebrates the couple’s anniversary by releasing the song she surprised him with on her big day.
“Step into a Love Like This,” released on Tuesday (Aug. 18), is a star-studded, glittery track that describes the dreamy love that Hashian has finally found. “Two beautiful girls created / Look at our beautiful world / You are the measure for my soul / Never felt I felt safer before / Never felt love without fear / You have made it all disappear,” she sings of her happy family.
“‘Step into a love like this’ is the most personal and rewarding song I have ever written, “Hashian said in a press release. Personally because every word is from my heart and rewarding, because I had the honor to surprise the man I now call my husband with this song on the day we were married in Hawaii for our family, friends , and two beautiful daughters, Jazzy and Tia. “
“This song is a reflection of experiencing our family, our love and our lives together,” she continued. “After being together for over a decade, I wish he felt how much this day and our whole lives together mean to me. It was emotional for me to reflect on the great years we have spent together. “with so much gratitude and also to think about our new future that we are building. Sharing with Dwayne and his heartfelt response was one of the many moments of our unforgettable day and celebration that I will hold forever.”
The independently-released song was written with Naz Tokyo, Mike Zombie and James Kang, produced by Mike Zombie and mixed by Erik Madrid. Hashian, along with her collaborators, wrote and recorded the song just two weeks before her wedding, marking the first song she was able to record following a focal injury that left her unable to sing for more than six months.
