As we get closer to what is expected to be the official reveal of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 on August 5, new details about the upcoming device have begun to emerge with some regularity.
The latest reveal comes from trustworthy YouTube filter Jimmy is Promo, whose latest video details what are said to be the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s advanced video recording settings, among other features.
According to the video, which appears to be authentic, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s Pro video setup will allow users to record 8K (7680 x 4320) at the 24fps cinema standard, along with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) recording at 60fps, 30fps and 24fps.
Additionally, users will be able to record videos with FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution at up to 120fps, along with the expected modes of 60fps, 30fps and 24fps.
Reportedly, audio capture during video recording has also seen a pro-level update, with the video revealing a new on-screen histogram, which allows users to monitor the frequency of the sound, along with the ability to adjust the omni-directional, front and rear audio recording.
More revealed features
Along with the aforementioned video and audio recording options, the leaked video details a number of other cool features that are reportedly making their way to the next Galaxy Note 20 range.
A closer look at the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s camera app reveals up to 5x optical zoom capability and 50x digital zoom, which seems more reasonable than the excessive (and rather blurry) 100x zoom functionality it offers. Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The video also details a new ‘scene descriptor’ feature within the Bixby Vision app that apparently allows users to “capture a scene” and then “listen to an audio description”, which sounds quite impressive if true and opens a brand new world of accessibility benefits.
A look at the phone’s purported drop-down menu also reveals a new Near Share feature, which we imagine works in the same way as Apple’s AirDrop, along with what appears to be the rumored DeX wireless feature we reported last week.
As legitimate as the video appears to be, there’s still a chance that at least some of these features won’t make it to the end product. That being said, we’ll know for sure when the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will (presumably) be released next month.
