The world’s last remaining Blockbuster store gets an extreme makeover … it’s being converted into a rental home for an epic sleep-end-of-summer !!!
Here’s the deal … Sandi Harding, the manager of the only surviving Blockbuster in Bend, OR, turns the store into an Airbnb for just 3 nights … and the once-in-a-lifetime experience sounds pretty freaky cool.
The 3 lucky people who make one of the reservations are different than ever for a bedroom … they get the keys to the store – literally – and can watch movies to the content of their heart in a trial living room complete with a pull-out couch, bean bags, lamps and pillows.
Movies are not fun without snacks … and this Blockbuster sleepover includes free pizza, Pepsi, candy and popcorn, plus anything you want to bring.
The store’s entire movie collection is extensive, plus video games as well. Oh, and there is a VHS player, as long as you remember how you work it !!!
Reservations are available starting Monday at 1 p.m. PT, but you must be a Deschutes County resident to reserve the Blockbuster for one night only. The overnight stays are set for September 18-20 and the place can accommodate a maximum of 4 people.
Sandi says she wants to thank the local community for supporting the world’s only remaining Blockbuster, which is why it’s only rented to locals and costs a meager $ 4.
The Blockbuster is full of nostalgia from the 90s, but here’s a hard reminder that it’s still 2020 … guests are provided with a pack of face masks, disinfectant wipes and endless sanitizer for hands.
