Psych 2: Lassie returns home brings the cast of the TV show Psychoanalyze, together again. And that means continuing the comedy tradition of singing “Happy Birthday” on set.
Sounds typical if it’s someone’s birthday, right? On the set of Psychoanalyze, the song has a special meaning. Read on to find out why Timothy Omundson had “one of the most emotional moments” when the cast and crew of the movie sang “Happy Birthday” to her.

After making a brief cameo in 2017 Psych: the movie after a stroke Omundson returned to Psychoanalyze for a sequel Repeating his role as Carlton “Lassie” Lassiter, one he started playing in 2006, the actor went to set for the first time since the stroke.
But that was not his first time acting since the stroke. Omundson made an appearance in We are and American housewife as a guest. Psych 2: Lassie returns home marked his official return to the set.
As the movie’s title suggests, the sequel centers on Omundson’s character. Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodríguez) and Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill) investigate Lassiter’s claims about seeing strange things happen.
There are, of course, all the features fans have come to expect from the series; pineapples, aliases and lots of jokes.
Singing “Happy Birthday” means “We love you,” he says.
“Happy birthday” has a certain meaning for Psychoanalyze, which Omundson explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. A Psychoanalyze “Tradition”, the song is a farewell.

“When an actor or director that we really liked involved, we sang them [with] “Happy birthday,” which sounds strange, but it wasn’t “happy birthday,” it just meant, “We love you and you’re one of us,” “Omundson said.
As their Psychoanalyze character Omundson spent time in recovery. Recovery during the filming of the first Psychoanalyze movie, I would receive encouraging messages. Among them were people from the show singing “Happy Birthday”.

Omundson recalled receiving a welcome that moved him as he went on to film the sequel.
“So the first day we got to Vancouver, it was a couple of days before he started shooting, we got a call asking if I’d like to go up on set and say hello to people before we start working,” he said. “So they took me to the Hershel House set.”
He went on to say that what he saw when he got there marked “one of the most emotional moments” he has ever experienced working on a movie or television show.

“I entered the hall of the mansion, and I look around to see all the actors there and a lot of the crew there,” he said. “I grab [Camera “A” Operator Marco Ciccone’s] be careful, and Marco all started singing the song for me. “
Overcome with emotion, people began to cry.
“Our longtime boom operator immediately started crying, and my wife Allison [Cowley] I started crying and then I started crying, “said Omundson. “It was one of the most emotional moments I’ve ever had on a set.”
“Just being wrapped up in this love for these people that I had worked with for so many years was really an experience that I will never forget,” he added.
We will never think of “Happy Birthday” the same way again.
