The singer will be appearing on BTS, Doja Cat, J Balvin, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Maluma and CNCO as artists for the August 30 show, which will feature outdoor games throughout New York City.
Lady Gaga is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2020.
The singer, who released the album Chromatica earlier this year, it announced the news on its Instagram page on Thursday. It will mark the television performance of the world premiere of its latest release and Gaga’s first return to the VMA stage since 2013.
Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga lead the nominations this year with nine each, followed by Billie Eilish and The Weeknd with six per piece.
The collaboration of Gaga and Grande “Rain on Me” is up for video of the year, song of the year, best collaboration, best pop, best filmmaking, best visual effects and best choreography. Gaga is also up for artist of the year and the best quarantine show for “Smile” from One world: together at home.
She has performed with previously announced artists including BTS, Doja Cat, J Balvin, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Maluma and CNCO. Keke Palmer will host the show, which will be live on August 30 at 8pm ET (PT-delayed PT).
This year’s VMAs will have open-air performances throughout New York City to pay homage to the area hardest hit by the new coronavirus pandemic this spring.
