Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, has released a new research note, looked at by MacCummers, detailing his expectations for next year’s iPhone lineup.
According to Kuo, the iPhone 13: will come in four model sizes this year, similar to the iPhone 12, but with some major improvements in camera technology. In particular, Kuo says the Ultra Wide camera on the two high-end models will be significantly upgraded to F / 1.8, 6P (six-element lens) with Tofocus. All current iPhone 12: models are equipped with f / 2.4, 5p (five-element lens) with fixed focus.
Looking ahead, Kuo says he also expects all new 2022 iPhones (temporarily known as the IE Phone 14 series) to be equipped with similarly improved ultra wide cameras with f / 1.8, 6p and of tofocus. Kuo says Largan is likely to be a major supplier of voice coil motors (VCMs) for improved ultra wide cameras. It is expected that the integration of Largon lens production will also benefit from the integration and the ICPhone 12.
