The international community is increasingly criticizing the Myanmar military for repressing protesters by force.
The foreign ministers of seven major countries (G7) strongly criticized the Myanmar military’s crackdown on protesters in a statement issued on 23 (local time) with a senior European Union representative, Reuters and AFP reported.
The G7 urged, “I strongly condemn the Myanmar military for its violence against protesters” and urged the Myanmar military to refrain from (violence) and respect human rights and international law.
He added: “It is unacceptable to launch live ammunition at unarmed people,” he emphasized, “if someone responds to peaceful protests with violence, anyone must take responsibility.”
“We express our concern about oppressing or intimidating those who oppose the coup and repressing freedom of expression,” he demanded.
They also said: “I will stand behind the people of Myanmar who are crying out for democracy and freedom” and “I will unite to condemn the military.”
The G7 is a gathering of seven countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan.
The G7 also expressed deep concern over the military coup in Myanmar on the 3rd.

Myanmar’s military government launched a coup in the early morning of the 1st, detained senior government officials, including torture for shame, and declared a state of emergency.
The people of Myanmar staged a large-scale coup protest, and in the process of suppressing it with force by the military, four people were killed and more than 100 injured.
