Doosan Infracore announced on Thursday that it recently received orders for a total of 20 large excavators from northwest China in Qinghai, northern Neimong and eastern Shaanxi. In China, where the number of infectious diseases of the corona virus has dramatically decreased, the demand for bulldozers increases as construction schedules resume.
In mid-April, Doosan Infracore delivered a total of six large excavators, including five 80-ton excavators (DX800LC-9C) and one 50-ton excavator (DX520LC-9C) to a customer operating a mining equipment rental business in the Qinghai Haixi area in mid-April. Sold
Doosan Infracore believes it has provided a foothold to enter the Qinghai mining market in earnest with this large model order. Doosan Infracore had a stake of more than 15% in Qinghai last year. This is more than double China’s total market share (7.3% in 2019).
In the same month, the equipment rental company purchased three 80-ton excavators for infrastructure and mining construction in the same month, and in Shanxi, the construction industry customer had six 49-ton excavators (DX490LC- 9C), two 45-ton excavators (DX450LC-9C) and two 36-ton excavators. DX360LC-9C) 11 units were purchased including 3 units.
The DX800LC, the 80-ton large excavator, is a flagship model incorporating the latest technology from Doosan Infracore, leading the expansion of large model sales amid positive market evaluation.
The Chinese construction machinery market has stagnated from January to February due to the crown, but is recovering rapidly since March. In March, the Chinese excavator market was 4,620, the highest level in the past month. The industry expects excavator sales volume in China to grow slightly from 200,000 units last year due to expectations of government stimulus.
Doosan Infracore’s sales representative in China said: “Despite intense competition, we will continue to promote sustainable growth by strengthening the line of high-performance large excavators.”
