13 people died and 98 died … European-American Nursing Hospital, new corona primer19

Nursing hospitals in the United States and Europe are emerging as new primers for new coronavirus infections (corona19). Boston Gloves and others noted that elderly patients with many underlying diseases are concentrated in a narrow space, and a shortage of staff, facilities, and a building structure that emphasizes social interaction are becoming ‘the perfect incubator for Corona19 ‘spread compared to general hospitals.

The Associated Press reported that 98 people died per day at Isabella Senior Care Hospital in northern Manhattan, New York, with 705 beds. Since the majority of hospitalized patients are elderly, there is a potential for an increase in the number of infected people and additional deaths.

The hospital has not yet identified the exact reason for the death toll. A hospital spokesperson said: “Like other nursing homes in New York, we were not given the conditions to quickly detect Corona19 infections by residents and employees.” This means that the lack of labor, etc. failed to perform inspection on time and avoided rapid quarantine of infected persons. The Boston Globe noted that many of the nursing home workers have low wages and other jobs. As a result, they frequently refused to go to nursing homes, adding that they had developed a tragedy by overlapping with insufficient diagnostic tests and a lack of protective equipment.

The New York State Department of Health said the day that “Corona 19 outbreaks were reported in 239 senior care centers across the state.” Six of these facilities reported more than 40 deaths in Corona19. The possibility that the actual number of deaths has been reduced, such as the Isabella sanatorium, cannot be ruled out.
The state of Florida said on Day 3 that more than 400 of the 1,364 deaths in the state died in nursing homes. On the 28th of last month, 69 people were also killed in Corona 19 at a nursing home in Massachusetts. In March, at least 16 people died at the Lifecare Center, West Seattle Hospital. The situation in Europe is similar.
