But for a few seconds, the black smoke shot up, making the fire instinctive.
[김 모 씨 / 화재 생존자 : 바람도 안 부는데 무슨 먼지가 올라오지, 왜 이러지 생각하고 다시 일했어요. 하고 다시 머리를 드니까 검은 연기가 올라와서….]At that time, the six people working together on the roof threw away the tools they were carrying and ran towards the stairs.
[김 모 씨 / 화재 생존자 : 정신이 없이 내려오니까. 불이 붙는 소리가 귀에 들리더라고요. 짜자자작 하면서 불이 옆으로 오더라고요. 몇 층까지 내려갔는지 모르겠는데 계단 문에서 불이 계단으로 들어오더라고요.]The moment I ran out with the idea of living, flames shot up the stairs.
[김 모 씨 / 화재 생존자 : 앞에 노인 2명이 가다가 멈췄어요. 안 된다고, 불이라도 뚫고 나가야지 안 그러면 다 죽게 된다고 뚫고 나가라고 소리치면서 세 명이 다 불을 뚫고 나갔어요.]I barely broke the flames and went downstairs, but this time, the burning debris blocked the entrance.
[김 모 씨 / 화재 생존자 : 계단 내려오니까 패널이 밑에 내려와 있어서 문을 안 만들어놔서, 탈출하려면 허리를 굽혀서 굴러서 나와야 해요.]Kim barely escaped, but the three colleagues who worked together on the rooftops crossed at the crossroads of life and death.
