But once it catches fire, it spreads out of control and emits deadly toxic gases.
In the past, there have been fires from sandwich panels to fires or major catastrophes.
The Fire of the Sealand Youth Training Center in which 23 people died, including kindergarten students, in 1999, the fire in the frozen warehouse in Icheon-si, where 40 people died, and the fire in the Seomun market in Daegu in 2016, with more than 40 billion property damage.
The cause of the fire was different, but what caused the damage was a sandwich panel that emitted toxic gases and acted as a fire lighter.
The fires of the sandwich panel officially counted in the fire statistics of the National Fire Service (KFDA) occurred more than 3,000 per year from 2007 to last year.
Because of this, fire authorities have consistently required that sandwich panels be excluded from construction materials.
