“The trade agreement is secondary” suggests retaliation by imposing additional tariffs

United States President Donald Trump threatened to impose new tariffs on China, seeing evidence of a new coronavirus infection (Corona19) from the Wuhan Virus Laboratory in China today (local time). The United States and China are facing a face-to-face conflict, suggesting the possibility that President Trump, who has recently elevated China’s responsibility, will take steps to retaliate against China for Corona’s origins and concealment 19 .
In an interview with reporters after a ceremony at the White House that day, President Trump said “yes” to the question “What did you see to confirm that the Wuhan virus laboratory is the source of the outbreak?” President Trump said, “I can’t tell you” when asked for specific reasons.
President Trump also said that as part of the retaliatory measures against China, some administrations have been discussing ways to cancel some of the United States’ debt obligations against China. Earlier, the Washington Post (WP) said high-ranking US officials began looking for ways to punish China or demand financial compensation by blaming it for Corona’s expansion19. Trump said China should pay for not providing information about the virus properly, and that it has been angry with staff and others for the past few days and has been discussing ways to implement dramatic measures, the WP reported. Some officials are beating President Trump for telling China they are sending supplies to support the United States’ response to Corona19, but the WP said the fight began to swing toward a national security team that has been defending public retaliation.
