As a result of the YTN interview, the people who bought the land were the residents LH employees knew when they were doing compensatory work in Gwacheon, and there was also the chairman of the Resident Countermeasures Committee at the time.

The land in Maehwa-dong, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, bought two months ago by Mr. Kang Mo, an LH employee, with three acquaintances.

It was land that was initially tied up as a restricted development area and was not marketed well.

[인근 부동산 관계자 : (㎡에) 250~300씩 팔렸다고 하더라고요. 평범한 사람들은 그런 거 안 사요. 그린벨트인데 비싸냐고 물어보고 가지 (다들) 안 매달리더라고요.]

However, after about a month, the announcement was announced that new cities will be built in Gwangmyeong and Siheung right next door, and it was possible to expect a large market margin.

Of the 1.6 billion won in land price, only 1 billion won in loans.

As a result of the YTN interview, the three people who made unreasonable investments with Mr. Kang were residents who were compensated for the creation of a corporate-type rental housing district in Juam, Gwacheon in 2016.

At that time, Mr. Kang was the one in charge of compensation at LH.

Mr. A said that he was in close contact with him frequently.

[A 씨 : 그분이 보상을 몇 년 이상 했던 사람이에요. 그러다 보니 사람이 (오래 보면) 아는 사이가 되고 그러잖아요.] [B 씨 / A 씨·강 씨 지인 : (강 씨가) 지구 보상 관련해서 여기 와서 조사도 다 했었어요. 거기(A 씨)는 대책위원장 했으니까 저보다는 친하죠.]

Mr. Kang, who was in charge of compensation in Gwacheon, went on to purchase land in another area designated as the third new city with the old compensation beneficiaries.

When asked if internal LH information was exchanged, Mr. A claimed that it was just that Kang joined the land he was trying to buy and that there was no information exchange at all.

[A 씨 : 땅은 우리가 먼저 봤어요. 이렇게 저렇게 하다가 강 씨가 들어오게 됐는데….]

However, there is growing suspicion that Mr. Kang may have been behind Maehwa-dong’s hasty land purchase in January, when the announcement of the new city was imminent.

Why did they buy the land together, to what extent the LH information was leaked, if anything was exchanged in the process, and the growing question.
