[파이낸셜경제=김윤정 기자] Tesla electric car sales began.

On the 12th, Tesra Korea began accepting orders for the ‘Model Y’ electric mid-size SUV (multipurpose vehicle). For the ‘Model Y’, the standard range, which is the base model, is 59.9 million won, the long-range is 69.9 million won, and the performance is 7999 million won.

The standard plus range of the ‘2021 Model 3’ launched with the Model Y is 54.79 million won ~, the long-range range is 5999 million won ~ and the performance is 74.79 million won ~. The long-range price of the 2021 Model 3 was 4.8 million won lower than the 2020 Model 3.

In the case of the Model Y, subsidies for electric vehicles can receive 100% of the standard range and 50% of the range and long performance respectively.

On the 21st of last month, the government and local governments (local governments) confirmed and announced the plan to reform the subsidies for electric vehicles this year. Electric vehicles worth more than 90 million won were excluded from the grant. 50% of EVs under 60 million to 90 million won, and less than 60 million won are paid in full.

In the auto industry, the price of the new model was predicted to be determined based on the 60 million won set by the government for a new car launch. This is because, considering the price competition in the world electric vehicle market, it is inevitable to be sensitive to government policies to support subsidies in each country. The industry explains that to cover the cost of expensive electric vehicles with subsidies, there will be price concerns in accordance with the government’s subsidy policy.

The higher the performance, such as fuel consumption by electric vehicle model and mileage based on battery capacity, the higher the performance, the higher the government subsidies. Additional local government subsidies are paid differently for each local government.

The standard range of the Model Y is expected to be delivered to Korea in 2H. The long-range and performance Model Y is expected to be delivered to Korea in the first half of the year.
