A mutant virus from the UK, known to be up to 70% more contagious than the existing Corona 19 virus, was also confirmed in Vietnam and Turkey on day 2.

The spread of the virus, which had been limited to neighboring European countries, spread to Asia, North America and the Middle East, causing an emergency to the health authorities of each country.

The New York Times (NYT) and others reported on Day 2 that Vietnam and Turkey also reported that the number of countries with confirmed mutant viruses has risen to 33 countries for the first time.

It has been 19 days since the British government reported a related case to the World Health Organization (WHO) on 14 last month.

To date, the countries where mutant viruses originating in the UK have been officially confirmed are North American countries such as the United States and Canada, European countries such as Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands , Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, and Korea. It is a total of 33 countries, including Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore, Latin America and the Middle East.

In the United States, the largest outbreak of Corona 19, an additional person infected with a mutant virus from the United Kingdom, after Colorado and California, was confirmed in Florida on the 31st of last month.

Health officials believe that none of those infected with the mutant virus have a history of recent travel and that it may have already spread in the community.

There are a total of 9 national confirmed cases infected with the UK mutant virus. After the first mutant virus infection was discovered on the 28th of last month, the number increased to 9 in 5 days.

Including cases that have not been officially confirmed could increase the number of infected countries. Consequently, the number of countries that prohibit or restrict entry from the UK has risen to more than 40 countries.

Some countries have imposed restrictions on entry from countries outside the UK where the mutant virus has been found. In the case of the Philippines, the entry of all 19 countries, including the United States, where the infection with the mutant virus COVID-19 occurred, was prohibited.

Mutant viruses do not cause severe symptoms or increase mortality, but they are known to be 56-70% stronger than conventional viruses. A similar type of mutant virus has emerged in South Africa.
