Since the number of recently confirmed coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in Korea recorded the highest number in history on the 12th, the government is discussing ways to improve three-stage ‘social distance’.

Currently, phase 2.5 is being implemented in the metropolitan area and phase 2 is in progress in the non-capital area.

Step 3 is based on a nationwide pandemic and can be taken when faced with the risk of collapse of the medical system as the number of patients rapidly increases.

Stage 3 can be updated if more than 800 to 1,000 confirmed cases of local outbreaks appear on average per day during the last week, or if there is a rapid increase in patients, such as the ‘double ring’, which doubles from the day previous.

The number of confirmed local outbreaks per day during the last week was 662, which is not yet up to the standard. However, if there are more than 900 confirmed cases for a few more days, the chance of reaching the 3rd level criteria is expected to be high.

In the third stage, first, meetings and events with 10 or more people are prohibited. All multipurpose facilities other than essential facilities, such as medical institutions, are also suspended. The number of discontinued installations is 130,000 in phase 2.5, but increases to more than 500,000 in phase 3.

Five types of entertainment facilities, such as clubs closed in step 2.5, direct sales promotion rooms, such as door-to-door sales, karaoke rooms, indoor stand-up show rooms, and indoor sports facilities , will remain suspended.

Also, in the third stage, wedding halls, cinemas, performance halls, PC rooms, game rooms, reading rooms, study cafes, amusement parks, beauty salons and department stores must also be closed.

All national and public facilities will be suspended, regardless of whether they are indoor or outdoor, including academies that were ordered to ban meetings as a special measure in step 2.5.

It is recommended to close or close social welfare facilities, including day care centers, but emergency care services are maintained. In the case of institutions and companies, other than essential personnel, they must work from home. Sports games come to a complete halt and school classes become distance classes.

Restaurants can only be packed up and delivered after 9pm, and the number of users is limited to one for every 8 m² (approximately 2.4 pyeong). Coffee is only available to go regardless of business hours.
