Kiss icon Jean Simmons became emotional in Good Morning Britain on Wednesday as he paid tribute to his late friend Eddie Van Helen.

After hearing the news of Rocker’s death at the age of 65 on Tuesday, after the song’s battle with cancer, the 71-year-old musician admitted he was ‘devastated’.

Gin wore a hat and blindfolded his eyes with a pair of sunglasses as he claimed he would ‘bowl the eyes’ if he didn’t cover up during the interview.

Moving on to Eddie’s talent as a musician, Jean went on to say: ‘He played emotionally and taught himself, the event you saw Eddie was self-educated.

According to TMZ, Eddie died at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California, along with his wife Jenny, their son Wolfgang and brother and drummer dreamer Alex.

Wolfgang said in a tweet, ‘I can’t believe I have to write this, but my father, Edward Lodevic van Halen, lost his long and fierce battle with cancer this morning.’

Eddie, who never really learned to read music, had a sudden decline in health in the last 72 hours, according to TMZ.

His throat cancer was reported in his brain as well as other parts of his body, it was added, and the site said he had been ‘in and out of the hospital for the past year.’

Veteran rocker Eddie was diagnosed with cancer about 20 years ago and was traveling to the United States and Germany for treatment.
