LOS ANGELES – Norm Crosby, the English-language dadp mangan mangler who grew up as a television, nightclub and casino comedian in the 1960s, ’70s and’ 80s, has died. He was 93 years old.

Crosby’s first stationary work as a comedian was Blintrub in his hometown of Boston, which led to an engagement in New York’s prestigious Latin Quarter in the early 1960s.

As a public artist, Crosby flourished despite poor hearing. During World War II, he served aboard a Coastguard submarine chaser and damaged his ear by being provoked by the charges. He wore a hearing aid on stage.
He explained in a 1993 interview that “I never hesitated about my hearing loss because I got it from military service.” “I received thousands of letters from people who said they would never get a hearing aid but they changed their minds when they saw me open about it.”
Crosby was a longtime spokesman for the Better Hearing Institute and received an annual golf benefit for this reason. In 2009, he was honored by the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which raised funds for the distribution of hearing aids to needy children.
Norman Lawrence Crosby was born in 1927 in Boston. “Like most comedians, I was a funny kid in the family and in the neighborhood,” he explained in 1993. “I was always told I should have fun.”
