Kelly Ripa, Kathie Lee Gifford pay tribute to late co-host Regis Philbin

July 26 (UPI) – Kelly Ripa and Kathie Lee Gifford, former hosts of Regis Philbin’s television talk show, mourn her death this weekend.

Philbin died of natural causes on Friday. He was 88 years old.

“We are more than sad to know about the loss of Regis Philbin”, Ripa and his current Live Co-host Ryan Seacrest said on Instagram on Saturday.

“It was the last act of class, bringing her laughter and joy to our homes every day Live For over 23 years we were very lucky to have him as a mentor in our careers and we aspire every day to fill his shoes on the show. We send our deepest love and condolences to his family and hope that they can find some comfort in knowing that he left the world in a better place. “

Ripa and Philbin were hosts Live from 2001 until Philbin left in 2011.

“There are no words to fully express the love I have for my precious friend, Regis,” Gifford wrote in his own post on Saturday.

“I just adored him and every day with him was a gift. We spent 15 years together joking, arguing and giggling, a tradition and friendship that we share to this day. I smile knowing that somewhere in Heaven, right now in At that moment, he is making someone laugh.
