John Oliver will have a sewer factory in Danbury, Connecticut, named after him after he went on an explosively completed rant across the city on his HBO show.
In a recent episode of Last week last night with John Oliver, the British-born cabaret artist analyzed racial differences in the selection process of the American jury. He cited problems in Hartford and New Britain.
‘If you’ll forget a city in Connecticut,’ he said then, ‘why not forget Danbury? Because, and this is true, f *** Danbury! ”

Oliver said he knew “exactly three things” about Danbury: that USA Today rated it as the one to best city to live in in 2015, that it was once the center of the American hat industry, and, “if you’re out there, you have a standing invitation to come from a report by John Oliver, children included, f *** you ”.
It’s not entirely clear what caused Oliver’s eruption. The independent has contacted his representative for comment.
In response to Oliver’s rant, Danbury Republican Mayor Mark Boughton announced the news of resuming the sewerage on his Facebook page.
“We’ll name it John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant,” he said.
“Why? Because it’s full of madness, just like you, John.”
Oliver previously had fun with Boughton and other mayors in 2017, over videos they made to entice Amazon to build its second world office in its cities.
“In fact, thank you for showing that Amazon video,” Boughton commented at the end of the new video. “We got Amazon here in Danbury.”
