Joe Rogan is the biggest name in the podcast industry, there’s no question about it. His podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, has nearly 200 million views / listeners per month. The UFC commentator / interviewer has found his true calling in podcasting and hasn’t looked back since. But, it seems that Mr. Rogan has a problem with video games and has been very vocal about it.
In a recent podcast with Joe De Sena, he mentions that video games are a problem because they are so much fun and addictive. Have a look:

He also says that playing video games gets you nowhere and that they are a “waste of time”. Now, people related to the gaming industry will definitely have a different perspective on it. James Dash, the host of Riot Games, took to Twitter to comment on this where he said:
“I @joerogan, I am the host of the biggest esport and the most played video game in the world. I’d take the opportunity to be on her show and talk about the value of games. Give me a hit if you’re interested!
Dash is the host of League of Legends, one of the largest esports titles in the world. You are right to defend the video game industry, especially considering that it has grown tremendously during this pandemic. It would definitely be a podcast to see if James really appeared on Rogan’s show.
If you really don’t know much about Joe, you’ll be surprised to learn that he has also been a part of the gaming industry. Joe, as he is in real life, was the commentator for EA’s UFC franchise. But all that will change with UFC 4, which will not have him or his voice.
No, this has nothing to do with his comments on video games, but his hatred for voice-over work.

Joe Rogan hated doing the voiceover for UFC games
In an interview with Gamespot, UFC 4 Creative Director Brian Hayes said: “He hasn’t been shy about saying this on his own podcast; like, he hates doing it. If you are not a person who [can] Mentally entering that space, then I can see what a very challenging and potentially stunning experience could be for a certain type of individual.
“From the beginning, he was honest with us because he hated his experience of doing voiceovers in previous iterations of other UFC games, and things were no different for us. I hated doing voiceovers in these games too. That has nothing to do with us in particular, or, you know, our games versus other games. He just doesn’t like sitting in a booth reading lines for hours on end. “
Well, it seems that Rogan is no longer fond of video games like before. A while ago, he had confessed to being addicted to a popular video game called Quake. Perhaps your thought process comes from your experience of that addiction, which would be understandable. However, making a general generalization about all video games and the community is certainly a bit harsh.
Maybe James can change his perspective on games by telling him exactly what the industry is about. For now, we wait to see if Joe responds to this Dash message.
