Jim Jordan lashes out at Democrats as House panel confronts high-tech CEOs

Good morning and welcome to Fox News First. Here’s what you need to know when starting your day …

Jim Jordan criticizes Democrats for rejecting his questions in a hearing with high-tech CEOs
Ardent United States Representative Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, stopped the House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday when he launched a tirade against Democrats who were questioning the CEOs of some of the world’s largest technology companies.

The fireworks began when Representative Mary Gay Scanlon, a Pennsylvania Democrat, interrupted Jordan’s questioning by Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai about alleged Google search engine bias against conservatives, and whether Pichai promised that Google would not interfere in the next election to benefit Joe Biden.

Scanlon dismissed Jordan’s concerns as “marginal conspiracy theories.”

“Mr. President, we have the email,” Jordan replied, referring to a message written by a Google staff member suggesting that the tech giant aided the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ABOUT OUR MAIN STORY.

Tucker says Biden’s victory could hand over power to Kamala Harris’ ‘fraud’ or ‘bomb thrower’ Karen Bass
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson used his monologue on Wednesday’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to take a closer look at Kamala Harris and Karen Bass, two of the top contenders to be Joe Biden’s running mate.

“Joe Biden cannot govern the country. He is not capable of doing so,” said Carlson, who cited reports that the former vice president could serve a single term if elected. “So Biden’s running mate will be the most important vice president election in the history of the United States.”

“Kamala Harris has no answers. Fixing the problem is not the goal of the exercise,” Carlson said. “Winning is the point.”

“Unlike Kamala Harris, Karen Bass is not a fraud,” he said. “Karen Bass is serious. She is sincere. She is an uncompromising leftist bomb-thrower who spent decades working to help Fidel Castro and his Cold War against the United States.” CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

Federal agents won’t leave Portland until court is “safe,” says acting DHS chief
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf told “Bill Hemmer Reports” Wednesday that, despite promises by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown to the contrary, federal agents will not leave Portland, Oregon, until a court Federal government that has been repeatedly attacked by protesters is “safe” and secure.

“We will continue to keep law enforcement officers in the area to make sure that court is safe at the end of the day,” Wolf told Hemmer.

Wolf said he and the Democratic governor agreed on a plan to end “violent activity in Portland directed at federal properties and law enforcement officers” that required “the strong presence of the Oregon State Police in downtown Portland.”

“Over time,” Wolf told Hemmer, “if the Oregon State Police and the plan that has been implemented are successful, and we can responsibly withdraw law enforcement assets there, then we will.” CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

Some parting words

Sean Hannity says New York City is deteriorating “before our very eyes.” He blames Mayor Bill De Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo, both Democrats, for the current state of the Big Apple. He regrets that this is only a hint of what the police might bring.
