Jim Harbaugh of Michigan supports making football midway through the Big Ten report to cancel season

Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh on Monday issued a statement supporting the desire to play college football in the fall, despite reports that the Big Ten Conference voted on postponement.

In a lengthy statement, Harbaugh believes the coronavirus can be controlled.

FLORIDA GOV. RON DESANTIS ‘100% IN FAVOR’ OF ACC, SEC PLAYS FOOTBALL IN FALL

“I would like to address the rumors that are circulating today. I am advocating for this fall not for football because of my passion as our players (sic) desire to play, but because of the facts that have been gathered in the last eight weeks since our players returned to campus on June 13th. I plead on August 10 that the virus can be regulated and treated because of these facts, “the statement read.

Harbaugh said the football program had 11 positive coronavirus tests in 893 administration tests, two positive tests in 417 administration tests, and zero positive tests out of 353 administration tests. He said there have been zero breaks in training and that the school complies with health guidelines for CDC.

“It’s just easy. This is hard, “the statement said.

“It has been proven that the behavior, discipline and structure within our program have led to these stellar results. We respect the challenge presented by the virus, but we will not get rid of it.

‘We have developed a great prototype for how we can make this work and provide the opportunity for players. If you are transparent and follow the rules, this is how it can be done.

“I am forever proud of our players, parents, coaches and staff because I am leaders and role models in our sport, in our institution and in society. We will continue to follow all health and safety guidelines, teaching, training and coaching of those young men and their families who have placed their trust in us while we advocate for a football season in the fall. “

Harbaugh’s statement comes on the heels of the Big Ten Conference, which reportedly voted to cancel the football season. The Detroit Free Press found that 12 of the 14 school principals voted to end bankruptcy sports during the conference.
