There’s something a little supernatural going on The boys season 3. Or rather, one. Jensen Ackles, star of Supernatural, is recruited to the cast of The boys season 3 as Soldier Boy, the original superhero in the world of the fierce Amazon comic strip. Ackles’ casting will reunite him Eric Kripke, who made Supernatural and is the current showrunner and executive producer of The boys.
Amazon Prime Video announced that Jensen Ackles will join the cast of The boys for her third season as Soldier Boy, the original superhero. Ackles first announced that he was looking to die in The boys on his Instagram, pleaded that the role of Soldier Boy will be to his next project Supernatural expands its run of 15 seasons.
Soldier Boy was the original superhero in the comic strip of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, in which the character became the first super-celebrity after fighting in World War II. It’s a parody of Captain America, right down to the backstory and legacy of the character as “a foundation of American culture for decades.” But the big difference is that Soldier Boy is described as stupid and untrained, leading to the death of his team and a squadron of soldiers.
Ackles’ role as Soldier Boy will reunite with the man who helped start his career Supernatural, current showrunner and executive producer of The boys, Eric Kripke. Crib round Supernatural for five seasons before leaving the series, but apparently still maintains a close relationship with Ackles, and releases a nice tongue-in-cheek statement:
‘When I was a kid, I had a crazy, impossible dream – to give Jensen Ackles a win. I’m happy to say that dream is true. Jensen is a great actor, an even better person, smells like hot chocolate candy cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the fiercest Superhero, he will bring so much humor, pathos and danger to the role. I can not wait to be in set with him again, and bring a bit of Supernatural no The boys. ”
This is not the first time Ackles has played a superhero, after Jason Todd called her in the animated film Batman: Under the red cap, but this is the first time he will grab on screen. You can expect to see Ackles and that chiseled beak from him in season 3 of The boys, which was announced picked up by Amazon during the Comic-Con at Home panel on July 23rd.
The boys season 2 premieres September 4, 2020, with episodes appearing weekly through October 9th.
