Jennifer Aniston once pointed to the perceived image of her marriage to Brad Pitt.
The 51-year-old former Friends actress said any thought that she and Brad were Hollywood’s “golden couple” was far from the truth of her actual marital status.
At the turn of the millennium, Brad and Jen were the coupling that captured the imagination of millions and all of their movements were analyzed by fans and the media alike.
The actress once said that this exaggeration left her and Brad, now 56, desperately trying to live up to their marriage expectations when the real-life truth was far from the glamorous life being portrayed.
They were married in 2000 and for the next five years, they desperately struggled to keep their relationship private while meeting the demands of everyone who felt they wanted to know every detail of their lives.
Jen once opened up about the pressures of living in the perfect marriage on Oprah Winfrey’s show and said they were just “normal” and not the “ideal” combination seen in the media.
Oprah asked Jennifer: “People were obsessed with your marriage and then divorce (with Brad Pitt). I think it is because you represented the image on the wedding cake.
“And so if this doesn’t work, then you’re thinking, ‘Oh Lord, I’m in trouble.’ I think it’s that kind of partnership. What do you think it is?

The Morning Show actress replied: “It is that, and the media totally believes it.
“Because all you see is the red carpet, and you don’t see people in their lives, living their lives, doing the things that people do.”
Jennifer continued: “It is not real. It just isn’t real. You are human beings who have a human experience and there is nothing different except that you are exposed to the world as a public person.
“But your personal life, your personal feelings, your heart, your success, your pain, your everything, are the same as anyone else’s.”
