Japanese charts: Animal Crossing continues to dominate as Nintendo takes eight of the top ten


The Japanese chart figures of Famitsu are now for August 10 – 16, and that is public Animal Crossing: New Horizons sit on the very top again.

The game again managed to sell 105,983 box copies this week, putting itself comfortably at number one and extending its lifetime sales lead over all other Switch games. Call Fit Adventure also continues to perform well, coming second this week with more than 26,000 sales points.

There are no new entries in the top ten this week, but Nintendo will be happy to see that eight games are on the list on Switch.

Nintendo also made an impression on the hardware front this week, with both Switch consoles selling a combined total of 148,699 units. For comparison, the end-of-generation PS4 family of systems sold 3,301. Here are this week’s figures, followed by live sales in brackets:
