Rating: Pole position
“It feels great to be on pole position and it is the first time I have started the season in this way.
(Last race last year) After the victory in Abu Dhabi, the team was very lively and very tough. I don’t know if it will follow the same path in the future, but everyone on site and in the factory did the best job and brought this machine to me. I am proud of them.
And Honda worked hard this offseason like before. They are always doing their best and wanting to win like us. I really enjoy working with them and I like to be passionate about it.
Their efforts were great, so today’s results are largely due to Honda’s accomplishments.
Even after the test, it was difficult to measure our position and we had no idea what would happen in qualifying. But I would be happy if I could ride like in Q3 today and the machine feels good. I have to get good results tomorrow, but if I start well I’m sure I can do a good job. “
The final race will start at 24:00 on Sunday (at 0:00 on Monday). Until last season it started at 0:10, but as of this season it has been changed to the conventional start at 0:00.
