The second round of free practice was held for the first day of the F1 2020 F1 Round 7 Belgian GP (the final on August 28-30, 2020) at Spa Francorchamps.

The session started at a low temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, 23 degrees Celsius and 67% humidity.
The climate is “spa climate”. In the low seat F3, although I was running on dry tires, a downpour (light rain) that caused a splash of water fell over part of the course. The crews waited a while to dry because part of the road surface was still wet.

Land Norris (McLaren) reported wirelessly that “a misfire is happening” and made a pit stop. It didn’t seem like a big deal and he kept driving.
Daniel Ricardo (Renault) set the maximum time as the pace of each car gradually increased. The finish appears to be in good shape. Soon after, Max Verstappen (Red Bull Honda) updated the time and climbed to the top. Verstappen, Ricardo and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) are close in 0.1 seconds.
At 23 minutes the yellow flag went up in sector 2. Ricardo has stopped. It seemed like there was a hydraulic problem when we went up the famous Haute Rouge, so we stopped the machine next to the field as a precaution. Ricardo seems concerned because he had a good time.
There were 13 minutes left, and this time the red flag went up and the session was interrupted. It is a sign that debris is falling at the exit of Turn 1. The sponsor sign on the side of the field had detached itself from the debris and had fallen onto the field. It seems to be the effect of crashing on the F2 billboard.
The debris was immediately recovered and the session resumed after the remaining 9 minutes, but each car remained searched.
The session ends here. The distance from the upper Verstappen to the 11th Lance Stroll (race point) is 1 second and looks like a close battle. By placing Alexander Albon (Red Bull Honda) in fourth place, the result was promising for Red Bull Honda.
Alfa Tauri Honda finished day one with Pierre Guthrie in tenth place and Daniel Kubiat in twelfth place, putting him in a good position to await the top 10 in the final race.
I worry about the end of Ferrari. Charles Leclerc was 15th and Sebastian Vettel 17th. This is below the good Alfa Romeo 13 and 14, and the Ferrari finish is not good, although it is the first day. Ferrari fans Tiffossi will be concerned that Ferrari’s two consecutive games in Italy will take place after the spa.
